“Just keep on shooting…You’ll understand later.”

More often than not, when viewing an image, I’m left wondering about what’s NOT being presented. To be more specific - the unifying variations on an image. And it’s quite possible, actually more probable they were never created, let alone even thought of.
After years of taking what I like to call “The Pretty Pictures,” and creating presets of the adjustments, I quickly realized those adjustments made for an interesting variation on my normal every-day photos. As I progressed down this path, it became evident that not only were multiple variations of a single image were to be had, but rather they SHOULD be.

If done correctly, each variation ought to illicit a separate emotion in the viewer and when presented together as a whole, only then do you have absolute resolution. This is much easier said than done. The number of presets I’ve created over the years is well into the hundreds, however, as I blindly scroll thru what seems like an endless abyss of adjustments, a handful them tend to reemerge time and time again.

It’s those I gravitate towards and as a collective, It’s the absolution I find myself yearning for.
My philosophy is simple - take the time to explore your images and create multiple variations often and in-time, you’ll begin to see the hidden potential each image possesses.
